Senior Sales Representative - ITB Plastics

Job Desciption

We currently seek to appoint a Senior Sales Representative to be based in Gauteng. The incumbent will be responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through to closure in an assigned territory. She /He will be required to develop and implement an agreed-upon Sales Plan which will meet both personal and business goals as well as an expanding customer base. She/ He will need to be pro-active in contributing to solution orientated teamwork, in full support of the sales and manufacturing divisions, in order to achieve customer satisfaction, revenue and long-term goals in alignment with company values and strategies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain excellent relationships and grow sales with existing clients
  • Identify potential new clients
  • Own and manage new product development with customers
  • Contribute to the annual business plan in conjunction with Management, which will assist with the goals and focus, to meet or exceed sales budgets.
  • Maximize all opportunities in the process of closing a sale resulting in growing the company’s market share
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships to meet company policy and core values, procedures and business ethic codes.
  • Address customer complaints, identify and resolve client concerns.
  • Follow-up for collection of payment, when necessary.
  • Other duties assigned
  • Market research: Assist with identifying new opportunities for new products and for the enhancement and development of existing products.
  • Monitor and report detailed business information on the competitor activities & pricing, potential collaborators and to identify business opportunities and threats
  • Understand the market in which the company operates and how the company’s products and services are used within that market.

Educational Requirements

  • Matric or equivalent
  • Sales/ Marketing Relevant Qualification
  • A BCom Degree in Marketing will be an added advantage

Experience Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Senior Sales Representative and at least 8 years in sales with a traceable record.
  • Knowledge of the Flexible Packaging Market or packaging sector

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven work experience as a Senior Sales Executive
  • Knowledge of the Flexible Packaging Market or at least the packaging market
  • Excellent people skills with proven customer service competencies
  • Willingness to travel when required
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
